Reset Mentimeter Presentation Results

You’ve created a great Mentimeter presentation, and you want to use it multiple times. You might be interested in reusing it:

  • Every semester as your lecture content for a topic
  • Every week as a general check-in
  • Multiple times a week (i.e., if you are teaching multiple sections of the same students)
  • Or for a variety of other reasons!

Reusing an existing Mentimeter presentation is a great way to maximize the return that you get out of the effort that you put in to creating it; however, Mentimeter saves all of the responses that have been submitted to each presentation and continues to amalgamate these results with every use of the presentation. This means that all of the answers/submissions that your last group of learners submitted the last time that you used this presentation will still be there when you launch it for your next group of learners – unless you reset your presentation results.

To reset your presentation results:

  1. Log into your Mentimeter account.
  2. Select My Presentations from the left-side menu.
  3. Select the presentation that you would like to clear results for.
  4. Select Results at the top of the page.
  5. In the bottom of the right-side pop-out, there will be options to both Download and Clear Results.
    • You can download a copy of the results first if you would like to keep them (i.e., to post them for the students in your course shell).
    • Select Clear Results to reset the Mentimeter for your next group of students.

If you would like to keep the results on your current copy of the Mentimeter presentation, but would also like another “fresh” copy of the presentation with no results in it:

  1. Log into your Mentimeter account.
  2. Select My Presentations from the left-side menu.
  3. Find the presentation in question, hover over it, and select the 3-dot icon to the right of the presentation name.
  4. From the pop-up menu, select Duplicate.
  5. The system will now duplicate a copy of the lesson with no responses on it that you can rename and use with a new group of students.
