In Mentimeter, you can import existing presentation files so that you can add activities between your slides.
Your presentation file must be less than 80 MB and less than 100 slides. It can be a PowerPoint (.pptx or .ppt), PDF (.pdf), or Keynote (.key) file.
To import your slides:
- Log into your Mentimeter account.
- Select Import Presentation at the top of the page.
- Select Browse, find the presentation file, and upload the slides.
- It may take some time for the slides to import, especially if the file is large.
- Once your slides are imported, you can add other Mentimeter activities in between the slides to increase engagement in your presentation.
Please note the following about importing files to Mentimeter:
- When you import slides to Mentimeter, Mentimeter imports each slide as an image. Because of this, the slides within the Menti presentation are not accessible to screen readers. It is highly recommended that you still post a copy of your slides in your course shell so that an accessible version is available to students.
- This also means that you will not be able to edit your slides after they have been imported. Review this guide if you need to make a change to a slide.
- Speaker notes will not be uploaded with the slides, though they may be manually transferred (copy/pasted) into Mentimeter.
- Slides with embedded content (videos, GIFs, sound bites, etc.) will not import in an interactive way. You will need to re-embed these using options such as Mentimeter’s Video or Image content slides.
- Slide transitions and animations are not supported in Mentimeter at this time.
