Record a Video using Kaltura Capture

Once you have installed Kaltura Capture, you can access the recorder either from My Media or directly from the desktop app.

Recording from the Desktop App

1. Locate the Kaltura Capture icon on your desktop.
   

   

2. In a few seconds, the Capture console should appear.
   

   

3. Click on the camera icon to turn your webcam on or off and select the Input source (camera) from the drop-down menu.
4. Click the arrow next to the screen icon, choose the desired screen from the drop-down menu.
5. Select Full Screen for recording the entire screen or Select Area to customize the recording area by resizing the cropping window.
6. Click on Audio to select the audio device you want to record from the drop-down menu
7. Optional - if you choose to record your screen, have your document, content, or website open and ready on screen.
8. Click the red button to start recording. A three-second countdown will begin before recording begins.
9. After recording, click the Stop button on the recorder console. Confirm by clicking Yes, Stop it.
10. Upon completion, you'll be taken to the Entry page for your new video. Enter a Title, Description, and Tags if necessary, then click Save and Upload.
