Introduction
By default, the creation of MyCanvas Quizzes is a manual process. However, there are available options that allow quizzes and quiz questions to be bulk imported into the MyCanvas system, saving valuable work, time, and effort.
Below, two options are outlined: one where The Centre for Teaching & Learning Innovation (CTLI) assists, and one where you can do it on your own.
Option 1: Word and Text Formatted Template
The Digital Skills Team is available to assist faculty with importing quizzes/tests into their courses. However, it is essential to follow the correct format to ensure these requests are processed efficiently.
To get started:
- Download one of the following template file(s):
- Rename the downloaded file with a clear, descriptive title that corresponds to the course(s) it will be imported into.
- Once completed, email the file to digitalskills@mohawkcollege.ca or instructionaldesigner@mohawkcollege.ca along with the details of the course where the upload should be placed.
Option 2: Canvas Exam Converter
The New York Institute of Technology implemented a QTI converter. This tool enables you to create MyCanvas Quizzes using a formatted text entry, allowing you to upload a set of quiz questions with correct answers, rather than entering them individually in Canvas.
To get started:
- Access the QTI Conversion Form and fill in the prompts.
- Once completed, upload the QTI file directly into your MyCanvas course.
