Adding your Course Outline to a Module in MyCanvas

The Course Outline Mapping and Management System (COMMS) is integrated into MyCanvas via your course Modules.

To add your Course Outline to your Modules, follow these steps:

  1. Select Modules from your course navigation bar
  2. Click/press the Add Module Item button within the appropriate Module (eg. Course Information or Getting Started)

  3. Select the External Tool from the Add Item menu

  4. Scroll down the list of items and click/press on COMMS Course Outline, then click on the Add Item button

  5. A link to your Course Outline will populate with the current year and term

Important

Course Outlines must correspond to the current term of the course. If you encounter a blank screen, it indicates that a course outline for the current term is either not yet available or has not been approved by your Associate Dean.
